My philosophy stems from the belief that our experiences affect us in different ways, potentially impacting our psychological and emotional well-being. If left unaddressed, those experiences that impact us can sometimes lead to unhelpful coping patterns. Seeking therapy can help us navigate, process and understand our experiences better. We can then challenge our behavioural patterns that, if left unchecked, may go on to negatively impact important aspects of our lives.
I believe that therapy is a crucial part of self-care and it is important that we make time for ourselves in a world that is driven by unrelenting standards. Our psychological and emotional well-being can help us to prosper and achieve our full potential so that we can lead a satisfying and fulfilling life. Therapy can help us understand how we view ourselves and the world around us, enabling us to develop supportive and meaningful connections. Therapy can also help us to identify and manage past and future stressors through the development and application of adaptive coping strategies.

The client sits at the very centre of my approach to providing therapeutic care. I believe a positive environment can help initiate and drive positive change. For that reason, my therapeutic relationship with the client is a key component in creating and maintaining a safe and positive environment. The client can then share experiences which may otherwise be difficult to discuss, allowing themselves to be vulnerable, without fear of judgement. As such, my approach is collaborative and dynamic, always keeping the most important aspect, the client, in mind. Together with the client, I work to identify the presenting difficulty and explore how it can be addressed with appropriate therapy.
My approach to every individual is as unique as the client themselves. As no client has the same set of circumstances, using my experience of multiple therapeutic frameworks, my aim is to present the therapy options available to them. Together we can then decide on an approach that is best suited to them and most applicable to their needs. Therapeutic frameworks I employ can include, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Relational Therapy and Trauma Informed Therapy and I specialise in anxiety, depression, self-esteem, psychosis, personality disorders, relational difficulties, and trauma.
To be a part of an individual’s therapeutic journey is a true privilege and by no means do I take this responsibility lightly. As a dedicated and client-centred psychologist I thrive on being able to witness people grow in confidence, resilience, and self-realisation.
Seeking support through therapy is a huge step. I am humbled by the bravery of individuals who can be open about their experiences and are able to put their trust in Therapists such as myself. As such, I am committed to building a therapeutic space where individuals feel empowered, contained, and connected to their therapy, so that positive change can take effect.
